Education

Dr. Mukesh Chand completed his MD in Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, in 2020, following his MBBS from Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur, in 2014. His academic foundation was established with Higher Secondary and Senior Secondary education from the Board of Rajasthan, completed in 2003 and 2005, respectively. This educational journey has provided him with a robust base in psychiatric medicine and clinical practice, equipping him to address diverse mental health challenges effectively.

Experience

Dr. Mukesh Chand’s professional career has included roles that have significantly enhanced both his clinical expertise and teaching capabilities. He currently serves as a Consultant at Manipal Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Prior to this, he completed a three-year tenure as a Senior Resident (2020–2023) and subsequently held the position of Assistant Professor (2023–2024). In these roles, he developed a comprehensive skill set in assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric disorders across age groups. This experience strengthened his abilities in therapeutic communication, adherence to psychiatric regulations, and effective documentation, while also fostering his resilience and adaptability in high-pressure environments.

Achievements and Contributions

Throughout his career, Dr. Mukesh Chand has actively participated in numerous seminars and workshops to advance his professional knowledge. Highlights include presenting a poster on the "Psychological Impact of COVID-19" at an international conference and contributing to various Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, such as the NIMHANS Knowledge Conclave on Stroke and workshops on neuro-psychiatric aspects of headache and treatment-resistant disorders. He has also gained insights into geriatric psychiatry, adolescent mental health, and community psychiatry through specialized CMEs, conferences, and symposiums.

Publications and Research

Dr. Mukesh Chand has a strong interest in advancing psychiatric research and knowledge-sharing. His involvement includes participation in workshops such as "How to Publish a Journal Article" and statistical research methods training using R software, which supports his research initiatives. Additionally, his work in grief and bereavement management in palliative care, community psychiatry, and adolescent mental health has allowed him to contribute to various research discussions in the field.

Extra-Curricular Activities

An advocate for physical and mental well-being, Dr. Mukesh Chand has completed a full marathon (42.2K) and maintains regular swimming as part of his routine. These activities reflect his commitment to overall wellness and resilience, qualities that support his professional role in Psychiatry.
